Very interesting.  Probably to reduce counterfeit merchandise, designer brands will start stitching in 'per unit' RFID.

This makes sense pragmatically, but the idea has legs.  RFID could identify the user, and his his facebook group.   Social networking could be here soon.  The future DNS will resolve to IPV6 via your social affiliation.

TechEd

This year Microsoft merged the old MEDC with TechEd.  Lots of people were upset.  Certainly there were far fewer sessions on deeply embedded topics.

But I kind of liked it.  What it gave me was the ability to see all the OTHER Microsoft technologies- BizTalk, Voice Server and so on.  These are the systems the embedded devices must connect to.  It was great to sit down for a few sessions and talk to MS and the partners in the booths.

TechEd was indeed huge. The self-paced lab had more than 600 computers.  Instructor led labs had tons more.
